I'll be honest and say that out and about this was middling as a beer goes. But for a Sunday where I've seen to much sportsball it might be just the go.
I even got out my Funk Estate coasters and everything to celebrate this.
Fruity sweet aroma on opening, lightly grassy.
Pour is decent wit ha great head, and nice deep hazelnut colouring, aroma blooms and gather much more hoppy grassiness about it.The head didn't last so well and fades, but in contrast to their previous beers this Funk Beer does have a head and appears well carbonated.
It's tauntingly bitter and a bit noisy up front is this. Finish is slightly dry.
I wish I could like this beer more, and this is step in the right direction in some senses, however it is still a beer that lacks body and depth.
The bitterness is fleeting and the beer muddles into a middle of the road thing, where you think it might be a safe bet, however the peloton is no place when you need to be pursuivants or tete de la course.
See how I threw some cycling things in there, just because I can, not because this is cycling related but to show that I do think about these things.
So it's a safe middling beer, that is slightly bitter and sweet, well carbonated and drinks ok. But just ok and not 'wow'. I've been wrong on the out and about tour before, particularly about the "wet dream" beer which I ended up liking a lot. This has just reaffirmed that I was right on the out and about. I think I could get bored of drinking this.
I look forward though to the next time I can get a beer from Funk, I have hopes for them.

The double dip review
- Am I enjoying it? Not so much no
- Would I have another? NO
- Would I share with a friend on a porch and set the world to rights? No, there are more things to put right, like the choice of beer.

It's inoffensive pop music and not something I'd play a lot of. I could get bored of it and am reaching for the change button as I finish typing and contemplate beer #399 - which has a working title of "beer for mark"
INDIA PALE ALE & IPA
India Pale Ale gets its name and unique style from British brewers who were making beer for export to India. This style has an intense hop flavor which was used to preserve the beer for the long voyage. India Pale Ale has a golden to copper color with a medium maltiness and body. The aroma is moderate to very strong. IPAs work especially well at cutting the heat of chili, vindaloo or Sichuan cuisine.
